Obviously not everything worked perfectly today, but the last 7 minutes were almost exactly what you want to see from a championship caliber team.

1) we got a stop in the red zone up 11 to force an IU FG.

2) We picked up 3 first downs on the ensuing drive to get a FG to push the lead back to 11.

3) the defense got the stop after that to close out the game and give us victory formation.

That’s winning football. I don’t care if it was Indiana. Over the last 12 years we saw plenty of games where we just gave up the TD. Or went 3 and out after the opponent cut it from a two score lead to a one score lead. Or the defense gave up a TD with a two score lead and we had to sweat out the onside kick or Hail Mary (and sometimes it bit us in the ass).

It was good to see a team finish off a game on both sides of the ball.
