Clemson Would Have Smoked Sparty

Yeah, there is little doubt that Sparty should not have been invited to the party. Hopefully the playoff committee can make some adjustments to ensure a team like that doesn't make it to the final four again.

In 20 years we'll look back and say that 2015 MSU was the worst team to ever participate in the four-team playoff.

No way somebody else gets smoked by 38. Not a top 4 team.

You better hope not. Then what is the point of a CCG?

I don't care how bad msu shit the bed against Bama, they won the BigTen - they got to move on.

Exactly. I'd sure hate to see UM (or any other B1G champ ftm) get snubbed just because sparty was a lucky fraud in 2015. Lucky fraud or not, they won the B1G & earned the right to go get jail-sexed on worldwide tv.

Go Blue!

My original point was that MSU and Oklahoma made it because that is how things fell this year. However, OSU was a much better opponent for Alabama and Clemson for that matter. Likewise, by the end of the year, Stanford was playing as good as anyone. BUT, both OSU and Stanford lost critical games when it mattered the most for falling in line to make the selection. Had they played to full potential, Meyer's Buckeyes would have repeated last night. Clemson may enter the season ranked #1 because they do not lose anyone. I also believe that this is Saban's last championship in Tuscaloosa. All of his long time staff are out and his recruiting class is not even in the top 10 at this point.

12-1, Big Ten championship and the best resume of the final 4 teams. Yeah, the committee needs to do something about putting a team like that in the playoffs.

Hell, Iowa had no business going to the Rose Bowl, right? What was the score at half time? 35-0 or something like that.

You're right man. Screw the regular season. It's meaningless. As is winning the Big Ten championship.

12-1, but should have lost to Michigan, could have easily lost to Oregon if Adams could hit a wide open receiver, played Purdue and Rutgers very close, and beat an overrated Iowa team. They showed who they really were in the playoffs, a team that lucked into a few wins and was rather unimpressive in other games.

Yawn.

As a Spartan I can see how he looks bad not playing in Senior bowl but did you consider he was still hurt?
Cook has been a mere shadow of his former self since the Maryland injury. I'm afraid he will fall off a ton of NFL draft boards. From my amateur perspective he still looks hurt.
The pros will figure it out. I don't care what your loyalties are from a team standpoint, anybody who is a fan of the college game should be feeling a little bit sorry for the guy. I never want any kid to get hurt. I want every kid, regardless of what team he plays for to enjoy the full benefit of his talents and achieve the most his potential lets him. I don't like it when they get exploited or ignored or written off by overly ambitious coaches. Principals and integrity matter.
There's a lot of stuff that goes into these NFL tryouts and positioning for the draft. Big buck$ involved here. I hope it works out for him.

He's not playing in the senior bowl... that's certainly not going to help.

I think he's passing on the showcase games because he's going to rely on private workouts and his resume to carry the day.
I don't think in private workouts they have anybody rushing the passer trying to show how good a LB'er or DE he is. I think Cook moves around in the pocket well enough. He clearly is not a guy who makes plays with his legs. It's his arm and accuracy that will make or break him. I think he's a smart enough guy and probably will rate highly on the "FB IQ tests" and "character" scales....but in the end...is that shoulder 100%? As I said, I haven't seen it since Maryland.
