A name I had forgotten until a friend of mine mentioned him this morning.
That guy can really coach, and he’s only 56. Not a spring chicken, but not old.
Two years ago, his Washington team played OSU in the Rose Bowl (the same OSU team that beat us 62-39). OSU had control but Washington had a big fourth quarter and ended up losing 28-23. Myles Gaskin ran for 124 yards and 2 TDs. They held Haskins largely in check. Of course, he also made the CFB once. They lost to Alabama 24-7 - the game was not particularly close but they didn’t embarrass themselves either.
He’s very well respected as a coach - like Harbaugh (was), but without all the surrounding drama. Not sure if he would be a dynamic recruiter but if he got some guys on his staff that were, it could work very well.
We could do a lot worse, let’s put it that way. He’s older than Campbell but has a lot more experience and has won bigger at higher levels.
