AGP. What a change from the Clappy regime. He may be the primary evidence of what this staff can do with developing players. What a sea change since the Utah game for Chesson, eh?
Actually, you can point to many different players getting better. A.J. Williams, Darboh, Dymonte Thomas, and the list goes on. Speaking of the Utah game, how much better was Grant Perry today than against Utah? Perry arguably cost us the Utah game, and today was a big asset.
Both of the lines saw big improvements as well. They completely dominated today.
It takes 5-6 years to build a program, you know...Houma was recruited out of Salt Lake City by Hoke in Hoke's first real recruiting class. He was a 2 star rated fullback who was buried on the roster and never used by Borgess or Nuss because they did not utilize a fullback. Shame he does not have another year. The way he was coached and used this year just might lead to him being drafted in the NFL this upcoming draft. What a great talent and he responded so well. I am glad he was given the chance to finally play. Houma is 100% proof of the need for developing talent which takes good coaching. Brady Hoke should be ashamed of himself and I hope he watched the game today to see what this kid did for the team. There are other players as well that were in the same boat under Hoke's shitty coaching and leadership.
Houma, Chesson & Darboh are classic examples of the wasted &/or underutilized talent by Hoke. Fortunately, Chesson & Darboh have another year yet & will shine even brighter next year. Just think, Houma nearly went through an entire 4 year UM career without anyone ever recognizing his value. Thank God for Jim Harbaugh! Houma is gonna get paid because he finally got a chance under Harbaugh. Don't think for one second that Harbaugh won't go to bat for him with NFL front offices as well.
