To say Michigan was busy on the recruiting trail this week would be an understatement. The Wolverines handed out nine offers on Friday and four on Thursday. The coaching staff has stayed vigilant through in-person visits at schools and homes and looks to add more to its boards in the coming days.
We breakdown some of the recruits who have been offered and what their feelings are about Michigan, as well as their interest in the program.
2023 DE TJ Searcy
Michigan defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald would visit the school of TJ Searcy at Thomaston (Ga.) Upson Lee and extend a scholarship to the three-star defensive end. The Wolverines now join Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State and South Carolina to have offered the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder.
Searcy said he was not expecting an offer from Michigan and is very excited about the opportunity. He's been following how Michigan facilitated its EDGE rushers last season and sees himself filling in that role if committed. Under the helm of Macdonald, who offered Searcy through his head coach, Searcy truly believes he can excel.
Michigan is now towards the top of the list for Searcy, who also named Georgia, Florida State, and South Carolina as leading contenders. He doesn't have plans to visit the Wolverines yet but wants to soon. He's coming off an unofficial to South Carolina this weekend and is heading to Florida State next week. Searcy has previously visited Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, and South Carolina.
2023 OG Austin Siereveld
Michigan defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale went to Lakota East in Liberty Township (Ohio) to offer Siereveld. Clinkscale was in the state along with several other on staff, including Jim Harbaugh, to watch Rivals100 Findlay offensive tackle Luke Montgomery at his basketball game.
Siereveld is a four-star offensive guard and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Ohio. He's also the No. 11 guard in the country by Rivals.com and among the Rivals250 as well. The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder admitted that the recruitment process so far has been stressful but is enjoying it for sure.
Initial thoughts on the Michigan program for Siereveld include the excellent facilities and the coaching staff. He hopes to take his first visit to Ann Arbor sometime in March. Siereveld has racked up offers from the likes of Alabama, Cincinnati, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee.
Siereveld is impressed with the Wolverines being honored for the nation's top offensive line with the Joe Moore Award. In terms of top schools, Michigan is definitely among the top for him.
2025 OT Jayvon McFadden
Michigan continues to make the DMV a priority and it's looking to snag the interest of the rising freshman class early on. After a brief conversation with the coaching staff, McFadden adds another offer to his already first-rate list in the Wolverines. Other offers include Kentucky, Boston College, Indiana, USF, Penn State, and Ole Miss.
McFadden said the talks went well, having dived into how Michigan uses its offensive linemen in run blocking and the passing game. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder loves run blocking which shows up on his highlight tape. He's watched the scheme the Wolverines utilized to win the Big Ten Championship and would love to be a part of that in the coming years.
Out of Washington (D.C.) St. John's College, McFadden is a Michigan fan, having been one since middle school. Despite it being early, McFadden moves the Wolverines up to his top three and said they'll remain there for the time being. He plans on visiting Ann Arbor in March or during the summer and is also setting up a visit to Maryland.

Another rising freshman out of the DMV to have earned an offer from Michigan. Newly hired defensive line coach Mike Elston is credited with handing out the offer to Owusu-Boateng, now boasting six offers since Friday, with Penn State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and Maryland all entering the mix.
The biggest factor in Owusu-Boateng's recruitment is where he can get a quality education. He appreciates the fact that he can earn a degree for free and isn't taking that for granted. That's why he's so appreciative of schools like Michigan to see the talent Owusu-Boateng boasts both on-and-off the field.
Owusu-Boateng, at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, is both excited and pumped to have receive another big time offer from a Big Ten school. An avid fan of college football, he watched Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo wreck havoc as outside rushers and pictures himself mimicking them if signed.
Michigan is among those standing out for Owusu-Boateng, from Hyattsville (Md.) Dematha, and will take his first visit sometime in the offseason. He's currently trying to set up visits to both Maryland and Notre Dame. Owusu-Boateng is the younger brother of former Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who now plays for the Cleveland Browns.
