Cam really wimped out on that non try to recover the fumble...

He won't ever live that down. It was beyond pathetic. What was he thinking...game isn't over. Recover the ball and then punt and get the ball back.

Wow.

Denver deserved to win. Great defense.

That being said...Dang...Carolina wet the bed. Can't bring you 'D' game overall in the Super Bowl. I think Carolina is the better team actually and lost by 14 pts.

Sounds crazy but I believe it. Think Denver would be favored if they play again? I don't think so.

This game should humble Newton. I hope he gets roundly criticized for that play. Worst play in Super Bowl history because of the lack of effort.

Cam Newton spent the past two weeks bragging on himself, acting like he is a 12 year spoiled brat, fashion modeling, and making statements about people being afraid of him because he is a "black" quarterback. He deserved every bit of what he got tonight from being knocked on his ass most of the night to pathetically attempting to recover a fumbled ball to help his team. Of course, its all about him. Maybe he learned something tonight. Maybe Peyton showed him how to act like an adult and a professional matter.

I have watched some boring Super Bowls. I give Denver credit who has a great defense and won the game. If Carolina didn't play their best game...not the fault of Denver.

That being said...this was the sloppiest Super Bowl game ever. I vaguely remember the Broncos vs. the Bears and I think it was Grossman? who just wet his pants. He was just one player. This game was really poor. It was competitive until late in the 4th quarter but the NFL should think about burning the game film so nobody sees this product. It was bad.

Let me see if I can come up with a sloppier overall game performance off the top of my head. I can't think of a big game in any sport that was so poorly played. It was awful.

And Ted Ginn ran out of bounds rather than taking on a DB for what would have been an extra 5 yards or so.

The Broncos are just a tougher team.

I'm surprised Ron Rivera isn't getting more crap for PUNTING the ball on 4th down w/ 2:00 left. Yeah, I know, the odds of coming back were about 0.1% at that point, but still. What the hell was he playing for, style points for keeping the score close?

Cam quit, then his Coach quit. Overall, not a good look.

What do all of expect from Can Newton who has been told all of his life by his family and coaches that nothing is his fault and the blame should be placed on everyone else around him. This has been his personal mantra since high school, college, and now as an NFL player. 26 years old and acting the way he did. It's easy to be a leader when everything is going well and you are prancing and showboating to everyone around you. The real leadership comes out in the face of adversity and he obviously has none. Its a shame because he is such an incredible athlete and physical specimen. Underneath all of it is still a 10 year old kid. I like the Carolina Panthers, however, I have never liked Newton from his Florida and Auburn days.

As much as I hate Manning, I am happy for him - he's a class act and did wonders for the game and the league. Agree with scfanblue - Cam was never taught accountability - did you hear what his father said on First Take on ESPN before the Superbowl? Basically, Cam assumes his god given talent and physique will get him there versus gaining a mental edge and having to work. I think folks should stop the Cam is like Lebron. Lebron, while he did not win last year, showed a lot of guts in carrying his team on his back and almost pulling off an upset.
While the Panthers are good I expect that teams now have a blueprint for how to beat Cam - constant pressure. That being said, the Denver D was amazing!

Cam Newton may or may not win a Super Bowl in the future, however, he just placed a stamp on his forehead regardless what happens. He will always be remembered now for temper tantrum and spoiled brat attitude. I love his comments he made today. "What makes your way the only way." "I have my way" I wonder if he told the judge that down in Gainsville when he stole those laptops, threw them out the window of his dorm and then denied he did it. I bet his parents supported him the entire way. He laid on his ass all day on Sunday and it was beautiful. "That's the way I like to remember you Cam." On your ass and whining about afterwards.

I have less of an issue with his comments, etc but you could tell he stopped playing hard in the game by around the 2nd quarter. He was getting frustrated and it was obvious for 3 quarters and that is my bigger concern - when the going gets tough...I could care less about his comments - that is his deal and people can have their perceptions change - remember Kobe and the Colorado debacle?
