It’s a bye week so let’s fill some time with some rambling old guy talk.
This last week was a pretty good week and the beginning of this week started out the same. My daughter is about to make me a grandfather again so the family is really excited about the new arrival. Already been told it’s a very, very, large boy so there is a little bit of positioning to start the conditioning ( Michigan vs USC). The grandparents ( UM) have already begun the process. I’m not ashamed to admit that if we provide for the education we get a say in the matter. If they (the parents) want to foot that bill, so be it ( I can still lobby).
This morning I had a lengthy battle with technical consultants, legal consultants and rational people about California’s Air Quality Act and the amount of green house gas our next project will produce. The actual answer is not any more than the freeway I’m building next to produces every second! As a result, I’ll agree to put in solar, electric vehicle parking, low flush toilets ( which we’d do anyway) and then pay a whopping fee to some group who says they will plant some trees in the Mojave desert to offset the gas.
After this semi stressful event I needed to go to the gym to blow off some pent up energy. After arriving at the gym and donning my Michigan Football gear I stroll in to the men’s room to lighten my load. The three sitting stalls are all taken. Quietly I wait. A full five minutes go by and I start to get a little annoyed. After seven minutes I loudly said, “anyone anywhere near the finish line” and all three toilets flushed at the same time, yet no one moved. Each guy sat there for a few more minutes. My mind started to race and I was consumed with the following thought.
Taking a dump must be the biggest waste of time that any human can possibly endure. You know what? I was wrong. Talking about MSU Football is a bigger waste.
Have a nice bye week.
