...to a top 2-3 B1G squad going into the preseason, assuming that Hunter returns for his senior season.

That would mean that Michigan would return its starting backcourt, and its , and also it's top and 3rd leading scorer (Bufkin finished averaging 0.2 PPG less than Jett (14.0 to 14.2 PPG)., its top rebounder, its top player in assists (Dug), steals, FT %(Kobe), and its top shot-blocker (Hunter).

I'd consider them as retuning 3.5 starters, as the 2 players who were forced to start at PF should really have been bench contributors. "The Wills" will hopefully be surpassed by a quality grad transfer (B.J. Mack/John Hughley), or by YoYo, if he makes the Bufkin sophomore leap.

Michigan can also pull an offensive perimeter player, such as 20 PPG scorer, Jameer Nelson Jr. as a grad transfer, or Jackson Paveletzke as a soph transfer-15.1 PPG on 49% FG, 39% 3Pt, 84% FT shooting, or John Tonje, a 6'5" 210 lb grad transfer from CSU who has similar shooting numbers: 47%, 39%, 82% (14.6 PPG).

I'd say that Michigan will definitely look at stretch 4s from the portal, and at least one of the perimeter players. Whether it's a PG type, or a more swing-type of player depends greatly on what happens with Baker, Llewellyn, and most importantly, Bufkin.
