After the end of the season escape vs. FCS power Rutgers and another juggernaut of a signing day, I thought it high time for some brunch.

Some thoughts:
  • It appears Dantonio is going to keep the band together and keep Dave Warner as his OC. That is simply incredible in light of their horrific production this year on offense. Spartahhh finished 121st in FBS in scoring offense. Last year was similar.
  • What is going on with their S&C program? Their OL is smaller than ours was under Rich Rod. Did all the investigators running around campus change their supplement program?
  • This year's signing day flip embarrassment was delivered courtesy of Aaron Young who signed with Rutgers. He was their big RB recruit. Last year they lost a kid who turned MSU's scollie down to walk on at Northwestern. That cost his parents, what 300K?
  • IMO Dantoni is a bit gun shy chasing his kind of dawg on the trail. It appears that the rest of the student body doesn't liked to get raped or assaulted. Well, they never have, but now others outside campus are paying attention.
    • The AG Nassar report was scathing towards MSU, and this excerpt sums up their entire administration at all levels: "the report depicts MSU as indifferent to sexual assault and steeped in protectionism, lacking transparency and valuing financial and legal considerations over victims and public interest."
  • Next year they will have an awful offense and a good defense. Raekwon Williams is coming back which is a mystery to me. The good news is that Lewerke will be back and healthy. That is also bad news in that he isn't very good. Either is Rolf Lombardi.
MSU is quietly falling back into the pack behind the the big 3. I don't see another Cook or Cousins in their QB room. That will be their biggest issue going forward.

I see a clear path for us next year in the B1G if Haskins goes pro.
