But apparently he needs 10 more months... and I’m supposed to believe that magically he will be ready, we will have a playoff caliber team, and we will compete for a national championship next year?
Not buying it. Put him in rn. Take it one week at a time. Make a bowl. Beat Ohio State.
Those should be the goals for this season. Simplify the offense, give BP some easy reads, focus on the run game. We can accomplish all of those goals with Peters right now. Our offense cannot get worse. Playing a 5th year senior and finishing 8-4 or 9-3 + losing to OSU is a complete waste of a season and worst case scenario IMO.
If there is one positive about this whole thing, it could be that Brandon Peters gets a chance, literally just a shot. Give him a start and a few drives. The most talented QB on our roster is sitting on the bench because after 22 months he “isn’t ready”. Baloney, these are 18-22 year old kids. He will be fine, time for Harbaugh to show some confidence in the young man. He can make all the throws, he can make all the reads, and he can lead the team. Harbaugh and Pep should be telling him that everyday and instilling that confidence. If he can’t he will be getting passed up and transferring before we ever see him play..
What’s gonna change in 10 months? I mean really? Speight becomes all big 10? McCaffrey pops off?
BP is the weirdest thing to me with this whole program. Balls out in the spring game, but supposedly doesn’t have the mental makeup rn? Despite never seeing the field? Confidence in someone goes a long way. I’m not behind the scenes and idk what’s happening but I’m calling for Peters to be with the ones all week. Tell him that this is his spot to lose. O’Korn is a fighter and a leader, but we need to see if we can kickstart this offense. O’Korn will always be ready to come in, and he will be fiery + wanting to prove himself again if needed. We rotate every other position like it’s nothing... and I KNOW there isn’t a talent drop off.
