Wanted to leave The Fort with some good news before I went on vacation...
*** I have logged a FutureCast pick in favor of Michigan for Rivals100 lineman Rayshaun Benny. Obviously, Benny is listed as an offensive lineman, but the Wolverines have made him the top overall priority at the defensive tackle position. While Benny has been pretty open with his recruitment so far, I get the sense that Michigan is really starting to trend in the right direction. I believe there is growing confidence around Ann Arbor and that Benny embracing the idea of staying close to home.
*** Benny took his own self-guided tour of Michigan, which speaks volumes about his growing interest in Michigan. Now, Benny has been firm on wanting to take things to December and seeing schools like Arkansas, Arizona State and Penn State, but kids have continued to move up their timelines during the pandemic. I'm not as worried about Arkansas or Arizona State, and I feel like Michigan is making Benny more of a priority than Penn State at this time.
*** I have also logged an early FutureCast pick for four-star 2022 La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy wide receiver Tyler Morris to land at Michigan. Morris is a huge priority for next cycle, and the Wolverines have been recruiting him non-stop during the dead period. Obviously, Michigan is having success in Chicagoland, and Morris is a former teammate of U-M quarterback commit JJ McCarthy. Notre Dame appeared to be the biggest threat, but the Irish have tailed off. There is no doubt in my mind that Michigan leads right now.
