*** Michigan is set to host 2023 Rivals100 Many (La.) High linebacker Tackett Curtis for an unofficial visit on Sept. 11 for the game against Washington. This is a significant development considering the fact that Curtis and his family also visited U-M this summer on their own dime. Michigan is a major player here and is making Curtis a top priority. While he has offers from schools like Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Georgia and Texas A&M, Curtis has no issue leaving the south. He is a coach's son and a high academic student, which makes Michigan even more appealing. Keep in mind that Michigan assistant Ron Bellamy has strong ties in Louisiana.
*** Michigan is also slated to host 2023 Rivals250 Lake Stevens (Wash.) High running back Jayden Limar for an unofficial visit on Sept. 11 for the game against Washington. Michigan has been making a concerted effort in the Pacific Northwest and has the attention of Limar early on. A win over Washington would be huge in this recruitment. Limar is part of the same training program as key 2022 offensive line target Mark Nabou. The two will actually be traveling together on the same flight. Notre Dame, Oregon and USC are some other early contenders.
*** The game against Western Michigan won't be as star-studded as next weekend, but a pair of key in-state targets plan to be on campus. The West Bloomfield (Mich.) High duo of Rivals250 offensive lineman Amir Herring and Rivals250 wide receiver Semaj Morgan are both set to see the Wolverines in their season opener. Michigan is considered the favorite in both recruitments and could shut the door with a strong start to the year.
