Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** I spent some time at today's Midwest Boom 7v7 intrasquad tournament here in Chicago, which gave me yet another look at 2022 Rivals100 wide receiver Tyler Morris. One of Michigan's top overall targets for next cycle, Morris has continued to polish his already elite level route running. Morris brings a workers mentality when it comes to the technical aspects of his games, and he's one of the best natural pass catchers I've ever covered. While not tall or physically impressive, Morris is a springy athlete that can make ridiculous catches look easy. He has excellent body control and is such an instinctive player. Those around him compare his game to NFL great Larry Fitzgerald.

*** It's been a couple of months since I last saw 2022 Rivals100 athlete Kaleb Brown. He has been dealing with an illness and is just getting back in the groove of things. Still, Brown looked like his usual self in tonight's tournament. At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Brown has a thick, compact build and looks more like a running back than a wide receiver — no surprise he plays it full-time at the high school level. However, he will be a dynamite playmaker out of the slot at the next level. I've used these comparisons before, but think Rondale Moore and Golden Tate. Brown would be a stud in Michigan's offense and like Morris, is a top overall target for next cycle.

*** This event also gave me my second look at four-star 2022 Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic quarterback Steve Angeli, whose brother lives in Chicago. He is considered a heavy Notre Dame lean but does have an offer from Michigan. The biggest thing that stood out to me about Angeli was his deep ball accuracy. He threw some beautiful bombs for touchdowns with excellent touch. Still, Angeli doesn't have a ton of arm strength, which may be the biggest knock on him. Angeli, however, is accurate and consistent and fits what Notre Dame usually looks for in the position. He definitely has a high football IQ and does a good job of going through his progressions.

*** Lastly, I also saw rising 2023 wide receiver Carnell Tate in action tonight. Tate is quickly establishing himself as one of top overall prospects in the country in his class. He's tall, long athletic and runs crisp routes for his size. Tate has an impressive catch radius and made several plays alongside Morris and Brown. Once Tate adds some weight, he's going to be virtually impossible to stop on the outside. Michigan jumped on Tate with an early offer, and he will be a key recruit for the Wolverines down the line.
