*** Michigan made the Top 7 for five-star Bellevue (Wash.) Eastside Catholic defensive lineman JT Tuimoloau. U-M defensive line coach Shaun Nua has kept in close contact with Tuimoloau throughout the last several months,, and his Polynesian ties are definitely helping here. Keep in mind that Nua and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh flew all the way out to Seattle to see Tuimoloau before the period. With all of this said, landing Tuimoloau is going to be extremely difficult. I would go as low as one percent when talking chances. Alabama, Ohio State and the contenders out West all have better shots.
*** I've gone ahead and put in a FutureCast for Rivals100 Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola cornerback Ceyair Wright to land at USC. He will be making a self-guided tour of USC this weekend along with some other recruits, and I've talked to some people out West that believe he could make a decision sooner than expected. If that happens, I feel strongly that the pick will be USC. If he waits, Michigan could have a shot. Wright is not an early enrollee and wants to make official visits. Michigan is in line to get one and remains a top option. But all signs point to him staying at home at this time.
*** Michigan has continued its push for Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh cornerback and Florida State commit Omarion Cooper. As it stands right now, Michigan has a better shot at flipping Cooper than landing Wright. But that doesn't mean I'm overly optimistic. Yes, Florida State is pretty much a dumpster fire, but with the ongoing dead period, he's going to be a tough pull. Keep in mind that Cooper is an early enrollee, so he would be forced to pick Michigan blind. And of course, U-M is a long way from the Sunshine State.
