Here are tonight's Blue Chips...
*** I put in a new FutureCast today in favor of Michigan for Rivals250 outside linebacker Jamari Buddin. The Wolverines really impressed him on his recent unofficial visit, and I have reason to believe Michigan is the clear leader at this point in the process. Buddin is a teammate of 2020 Michigan commit Andre Seldon, who has been recruiting him hard. The Belleville (Mich.) product simply feels at him in Ann Arbor.
*** I had a chance to catch up with 2021 Rivals250 Westlake (Calif.) Oaks Christian athlete Ethan Calvert last night. Michigan is recruiting Calvert as an inside linebacker and loves what he brings to the table from an athleticism standpoint. He is from thee same school that produced Michigan freshman running back Zach Charbonnet and is looking to Ann Arbor soon. Early buzz is with Washington, but Michigan is squarely in the mix.
*** Michigan put a new offer on the table for elite 2021 Miami (Fla.) Northwestern outside linebacker Terrence Lewis today. Ranked No. 1 at his position for next cycle, Lewis is a special prospect with offers from schools across the country. Michigan will try to get him on campus, but landing him will be difficult. Early buzz for Lewis is that he’ll stay closer to home. Miami is considered the frontrunner right now.
*** Elite 2021 Oradell (N.J.) defensive lineman Tywone Malone is making an unofficial visit to Texas A&M this weekend along with 2020 Michigan commit and teammate Jordan Morant, who will be on an OV. The Aggies will do their best to win both over but as I mentioned earlier in the week, they have their work cut out for them. I still like Michigan to keep Morant and eventually win over Malone.
