Here are tonight's Blue Chips...
*** A ton of prospects have set summer official visits, but we haven't talked too much about offensive line targets. As of right now, the only recruit upfront that has an OV scheduled is Rivals250 Maplewood (Minn.) Hill Murray tackle Lucas Heyer. I put in a FutureCast in favor of the Wolverines earlier this offseason and still feel confident in that pick. I haven't had a chance to see Heyer this offseason since he's been dealing with an injury (not sure on specifics), but he's definitely a top of the board guy. Heyer will be at Michigan on June 18 and will also see Northwestern on June 11.
*** Michigan currently holds one 2022 offensive line commitment — three-star Monument (Colo.) Palmer Ridge tackle Connor Jones. While Jones originally committed to Ed Warinner, new Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore has made it a point to keep him in the fold. The two have built up a pretty good relationship over the last couple of months and stay in constant contact. I recently checked in with Jones, and he is still fully locked in with the Wolverines. Jones visited Michigan on his own before the dead period and told me he wants to balk on a summer OV, so he can get a game experience in the fall.
*** I'm told that Michigan is still making four-star Greenwood Village (Colo.) Cherry Creek tackle George Fitzpatrick a top priority along the offensive line. Fitzpatrick made a self-guided visit to U-M this offseason and is planning on returning for an official visit. As of today, a trip has not been set in stone, but Moore is in the process of locking him in for one of the June weekends. Fitzpatrick keeps a really low profile and hardly does interviews, so it's tough to get a true feel for his recruitment, but there is some optimism on the Michigan side. Schools like Miami, Notre Dame and Texas are also pushing hard.
*** Another Colorado offensive lineman that Moore really likes is three-star Centennial (Colo.) Eaglecrest tackle Braden Miller. I'm told that Moore is becoming increasingly interested in Miller and is also working on bringing him in for a June official visit. Miller is from the same high school that produced Michigan offensive lineman Reece Atteberry and also trains in the offseason with the aforementioned Jones. If Moore does in fact push, I could easily see him landing at U-M. Miami, Tennessee and Texas Tech are also actively involved.
