*** Four-star 2022 Birmingham (Mich.) Groves athlete Jaden Mangham named Michigan in his Top 15 today. Obviously, that's a giant list, so where do the Wolverines stand for the in-state prospect? Right now, I would say Michigan is firmly in the top five of that 15. I mentioned Mangham last week in my wide receivers notes as a guy that new position coach Ron Bellamy really likes. Bellamy and Mangham have been communicating frequently over the last couple of weeks, and Bellamy knows his mentor well. Michigan State did have momentum here recently and is making a push for his brother, Jaren Mangham, who is in the portal. Jaren played running back at Cass Tech and made an early impact at Colorado.

*** Michigan made the Top 8 for 2022 Rivals250 Paintsville (Ky.) Johnson Central offensive tackle Grant Bingham. The four-star prospect was in constant contact with former offensive line coach Ed Warinner. While Warinner is no longer on staff, Michigan has not stopped recruiting him. In fact, new position coach Sherrone Moore had a positive conversation with him last week. I would expect Michigan to receive a visit from Bingham at some point this offseason. Right now, however, Notre Dame appears to have an advantage if it pushes, and Kentucky is a big threat to keep him home.

*** Michigan also made the Top 14 for elite 2023 Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter safety Rahmir Stewart. Michigan offered Stewart a few days before he made the cut, so it was positive to see the Wolverines included in the group. Still, Michigan has some work to do. While Stewart is young, he is one of the top overall recruits in his class nationally and is very high on programs like Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama and LSU. Michigan hasn't had much success in Pennsylvania as of late, and pulling Stewart will be tough, but the new staff is showing that it can compete for top dogs.

*** Let's eliminate some guys from the board. Rivals100 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Raleek Brown recently committed to Oklahoma after naming Michigan a finalist. Rivals100 Denton (Texas) Ryan defensive tackle Bear Alexander committed to Georgia after naming Michigan a top school. Michigan did not make the Top 7 for five-star Miami (Fla.) Columbus offensive lineman Julian Armella. Three-star Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine quarterback Holden Geriner committed to Auburn after saying Michigan was high on his list. Rivals100 Klein (Texas) Cain running back Jaydon Blue committed to Texas after saying Michigan was a school he wanted to visit. New 2022 running back offer Ollie Gordon out of Euless (Texas) Trinity committed to Oklahoma State.
