Here are tonight's Blue Chips...
*** UCLA made a hard push late, and Boston College never stopped blowing him up, but Rivals100 Needham (Mass.) St. Sebastian's tight end and Michigan commit Louis Hansen has put an end to his recruitment. Hansen, who is not an early enrollee, will sign with Michigan during the early period on Dec. 16. Michigan did a great job with Hansen over the last week. U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh got on the line with him on Friday and had a productive call with him, while position coach Sherrone Moore helped ease some concerns during the week. Michigan also got the academic side involved as Ross School of Business Dean Scott DeRue had a long call with Hansen and his father. Hansen is ready to put pen to paper in a couple of weeks.
*** Miami has increased its efforts with three-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback and Michigan commit Ja'Den McBurrows over the last week and is now making a stronger push to keep him close to home. The entire Miami coaching staff had a call with him, and he's quickly becoming the top remaining corner target on the Hurricanes' board. McBurrows is signing early (he's not an early enrollee), so it will be interesting to see if Michigan can hold off a late run. McBurrows has been happy with his commitment and enjoyed the big visit weekend, but Miami offers him a chance to play closer to home. Remember, Miami is also trying flip fellow Michigan commit and teammate Jaydon Hood.
*** Michigan has always been recruiting four-star 2021 Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell athlete Titus Mokiao-Atimalala as a safety with the potential to play wide receiver. However, the Wolverines are no longer involved here. Michigan did not make his Top 6, which doesn't come as a big surprise. The Bob Shoop situation is still murky, and he never made his way to campus for a visit. Like I've said in the past, I think the safe bet is that Mokiao-Atimalala will stay out West.
