Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** I spent some time gathering info on 2022 Rivals100 Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic defensive back Jaeden Gould. Obviously, I just saw him and got a lot of positive vibes in regards to Michigan. From what I was told today, there is a feeling that Michigan and Texas are the two schools at the top of his list at this time. I think it's safe to say that Michigan leads, but he is going to visit Texas as soon as the dead period is over. He loves UT cornerbacks coach Jay Valai, who recruited him at Rutgers. With that said, Gould has been to U-M on numerous occasions, talks to the staff weekly and is friends with 2022 commit Tyler Martin. He wants to wait until after he can make visits to pull the trigger.

*** Michigan recently extended an offer to three-star 2022 Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep cornerback Avery Powell. He is a teammate of top 2021 defensive line target George Rooks, and I'm told he has high interest in the Wolverines early on. I caught up with St. Peter's Prep head coach Rich Hansen, who had this to say about Powell: "Avery is a war dog. He has great athleticism. He has a high football IQ. He'll mix with anyone. He's very physical. He's off the chart athletically. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. What jumps off his film is his toughness. Short-term memory loss for a corner is very import. I think he has the right mental framework. He can be the boundary corner or the field corner. He can do a lot of things on the field."

*** St. Peter's Prep is also home to four-star 2022 defensive lineman KJ Miles, who was an early offer from Michigan. While his original recruiters are no longer on staff, Miles has recently been in touch with U-M defensive line coach Shaun Nua. Here is what Hansen had to say about Miles: "He has a very high ceiling. He has the chance to be an off the charts player. He got hurt at the end of last year, so he spent time rehabbing. He's healthy. He's worked hard. He put on a lot of quality weight. He has a really good motor. His athleticism and his ability to play with his hands and stay on his feet are great attributes for him. He maximizes it. He's elite athletically, especially for defensive ends. He's primed to have a great year."
