Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

I caught up with Nashville-based trainer Daryl Graham to get more insight on four-star Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood cornerback Myles Pollard, who is a top cornerback target for Michigan. Graham trains Pollard regularly and is a Detroit native that played at Wayne State. Here are some highlights from our interview.

On his overall thoughts on Pollard:

“Myles is a unique player thanks to his length. His length, skillset and work ethic are unreal. He’s definitely going to be a great guy in a defensive back room. He’s very competitive, and he’s chippy. Most of the great defensive backs have a chip on their shoulder, and Myles is that type of guy.”

On what they’ve been training on this offseason:

“We are working on the small details and understanding how receivers line up. What’s your advantage against your opponent? We’re making sure he’s dominant on every rep. We want him to be dominant against every player no matter who he’s going against.”

On a college or NFL comparison for Pollard:

“If I had to compare him to somebody, it would be Richard Sherman. He’s very smart. He’s not as loud. But he brings that length. He’s tall and aggressive. He’ll get in your face.”

On how Pollard would fit in at Michigan:

“It would be huge for him. The Big Ten is a physical conference. They run the ball a lot. They need corners that are going to be physical and also cover bigger receivers on the outside. Myles checks every box.”

On Michigan’s recruiting efforts in Tennessee:

“The University of Michigan has that big block M that means something. The tradition and the education are nationally known. Michigan is going to have an impact with kids no matter what state it is. But for the state of Tennessee, it’s huge. They can keep getting kids from here, especially with the aggressive approach that they have.”
