*** I got an opportunity to catch up with 2020 Rivals250 cornerback Darion Green-Warren earlier today. He didn't practice because he was actually in class. Green-Warren is taking extra courses to make sure he's prepared to enroll early at the school of his choice. Green-Warren will take his official visits in the fall, silently commit in December and announce his decision in January at the All-American Bowl.
*** So where does Michigan stand? Green-Warren has been in constant contact with the Michigan staff. In fact, he spoke to the Wolverines a couple of times this week and is very much looking forward to his official visit on Nov. 30 when Michigan takes on rival Ohio State. The Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne product made it clear that he wants to go to a winning program. He said the most important thing for him on the OV will be whether or not Michigan beats Ohio State.
*** USC is considered the favorite for Green-Warren, but he is adamant that playing close to home won't be a determining factor. He loves both Michigan and Penn State, is highly interested in Nebraska and hopes to make a trip out to Georgia. Green-Warren was supposed to officially visit Nebraska this month, but he told me the only OVs he has set in stone are to Michigan and Penn State. Green-Warren added that he loves the physical nature of the Big 10 and believes he's a scheme fit at Michigan. He also likes the NFL experience on staff.
*** USC is the safe pick, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Green-Warren lands at Michigan or Penn State. From talking to sources close to Green-Warren, the question marks surrounding Clay Helton and the USC program are really helping out-of-state schools in this race. One source said anything can happen with Green-Warren following his official visits. Both Michigan and Penn State will have fair shots to win him over.
