Here are tonight's Blue Chips....
*** Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and new linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary checked in on some top Florida targets over the last week, including four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product Dallas Turner. This is a prospect that Michigan is quietly making a lot of progress with. Turner has visited Michigan in the past and really likes what the program has to offer. Jean-Mary is also doing an excellent job with him so far. Expect Turner to make it back to campus after the dead period.
*** Harbaugh and Jean-Mary also teamed up and got on the phone with three-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas linebacker Jaydon Hood. Michigan offered Hood in January and has been in frequent contact with him ever since. Like with Turner, Jean-Mary has built a strong relationship with the fast-rising prospect over the last couple of months and has made him a priority. Hood looks up to former Michigan linebacker Devin Bush and wants to get to campus after the dead period.
*** Harbaugh personally reached out to three-star Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch wide receiver Jaden Alexis last week. Alexis told me that they had a positive conversation and that Michigan is a school he is looking forward to learning more about. Alexis is looking to map out visits after the dead period and told me that Michigan made a strong push to get him on campus. Alexis has also had some great conversations with UM offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. It appears that the Wolverines are making him a priority at the position.
*** Michigan landed a big commitment from Rivals250 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive lineman Greg Crippen last week. But he's not the only IMG offensive lineman that the Wolverines are going after. UM offensive line coach Ed Warinner and the aforementioned Jean-Mary, who recruits the Sunshine State, were both on the line with Rivals100 offensive lineman JC Latham last week. Having Crippen onboard could help Michigan some here and keep in mind that Latham is originally from the Midwest. With all that said, Ohio State still appears to be the favorite here with LSU not too far behind.
