*** Naples (Fla.) Palmetto Ridge athlete Kamonte Grimes is gearing up to make a decision. In fact, the three-star prospect could commit to the school of his choice as soon as this weekend. He for sure wants to announce before the end of August. The three schools still in the running for Grimes are Michigan, Nebraska and Kentucky.
*** Michigan has made Grimes a top priority at the corner position. The Wolverines love his size and potential and have made him a priority throughout the dead period. From what I have been able to gather, there is still confidence that Michigan has an edge here. However, this one very much has a George Rooks feel to it in the sense that Grimes is a wildcard and doesn't really talk much.
*** With that said, Michigan has recruited him extremely hard. He has been in contact with the entire staff recently and has had a couple of video chats with U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh. Michigan actually had another call with Grimes earlier this week. I have my pick on the Wolverines and have no reason to change it.
*** However, Nebraska has made a late surge in this recruitment, so that's definitely something I'm monitoring. They are really pitching him on wide receiver.Kentucky is the dark horse in this race. The Wildcats have been involved here just as long as Michigan.
