Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** I spoke to a source close to the program this weekend that told me Michigan is still making Rivals250 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas outside linebacker Dallas Turner one of its top priorities. The source said the staff has really been connecting with Turner's father, Delon, who holds his MBA from Northwestern and is a wealth advisor. Michigan is really selling its elite education, and it's definitely paying off. While Alabama and Georgia are the presumed leaders, I still feel like Michigan is a trendy dark horse. The staff, especially Brian Jean-Mary, has really clicked with Turner and his family. U-M is recruiting them the right way.

*** There have been a lot of questions about how four-star Suffield (Conn.) Academy defensive end and new commit Kechaun Bennett will fit in at Michigan. I spoke to a program source that told me the staff views Bennett in the same light as Taylor Upshaw, who is listed at 240 pounds. Bennett can get there pretty easily and will likely spend his time with his hand in the dirt while providing a pass rushing presence upfront. I'm not sure where the 'Viper' talk came from, but it doesn't appear to be accurate.

*** The aforementioned Jean-Mary spent some time working on one of Michigan's top overall targets for next cycle in elite 2022 Traverse City (Mich.) Central inside linebacker Joshua Burnham. I have an early FutureCast pick in for the Wolverines, and I feel like Michigan is really making a huge impression on Burnham and his family early on. With that said, I do expect Burnham to take some time. Ohio State recently offered and will be a factor. He also likes Iowa and has visited.

*** A prospect we definitely need to talk more about is elite 2022 Hilton Head (S.C.) High outside linebacker Jaylen Sneed. Jean-Mary and the Wolverines are making him a top priority for next cycle early on. Jean-Mary keeps in constant contact with Sneed and had another positive conversation with him this week. Sneed, however, will be a tough pull from the Carolinas. He also holds offers from Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Texas and others.
