When the Colts tipped off the NFL the week before the game, why didn't the NFL go right to the Patriots and tell them no monkey business with the balls, we're watching. Why did they lay low and allow whatever happened to happen? Then the week after the NFL does little to control the release of the "findings" and now they allow the Wells report to publish with the goofy lawyeresque conclusions (and then suspend Brady on that basis)? It almost seems to me as if Goodell is hated by his underlings and they know he's close to Kraft so they're doing this in purpose to spite him. Maybe i'm 100% wrong but for a business that is fanatical when it comes to controlling news, perception, etc., how did this go down this way? Just weird.
