I'll admit that I don't understand why Beilein wouldn't wait a bit on Davis, but history says I shouldn't worry. I remember the disappointment when Beilein started at UM by taking Douglass. UM needed shooters so badly that there was some patience, but then he followed up with Novak (one I couldn't make sense of for the life of me) and everyone was sure UM would never win again. Then there was Morgan (his own father thought Beilein was crazy), Spike (fans were ok with 5 minutes but never as a regular player), and MAAR (why not save it for a better player in '15).
Not only is that a good list of players, but Beilein's failures, like Carlton Brundidge, don't belong on it.. Vogrich, Smote, Horford, were all pretty highly thought of and didn't spark a lot of debate. There was the one guy who played some power foward, decent athlete with no shot? I can't remember his name. He might belong, but other than that, Beilein's biggest head scratching offers have had a surprisingly high level of success, so I guess we'll have to see if he gets it right once again.
