So, every other level of college football has a playoff system. You know, the other levels that actually have real student athletes. At the highest level, you know the one littered with players who “ain’t there to play school” cannot seem to figure out how to run a similar playoff format. Makes me crazy with frustration. Playoffs on campuses with the higher seed hosting would be scintillating- and would level the field for the northern schools. For some reason this is treated like a rocket science issue that cannot be solved. The money to the bowl committees and their communities is always cited as the reason not to change. What about the damn money that would flow to the communities hosting a playoff game?? I know, I know, “Bowl Tradition” would be lost. That tradition be damned considering what the game has lost in the era of big money. Design a proper D1 playoff NCAA - just like the lower level NCAA teams do!
