......isn't too lofty of an expectation for Michigan football.

The program brings in Top 10 talent on average every season. It's not enough to be elite, but it's enough to compete against the elite every once in a while.

Lowering academic standards for players or cheating isn't necessary to get that done.

It's been 9 years since Michigan has beaten OSU and 16 years since Michigan has won the Big Ten Championship in football.

It's not about trying to be Alabama, Clemson or even OSU. It's about trying to be better than Notre Dame in a program sense, who has now made the playoff twice in the last 3 years despite recruiting lower than Michigan on average.

What most Michigan fans would be very happy with is not as lofty and unrealistic as some seem to believe it is......and it would still be a lot better than what we have right now.
