THAT'S why it would have been a good thing for the conference if WI won tonight. It's very short-sighted to think otherwise.
If you think conference and team perception/reputation/success is not important to elite recruits, you're wrong. As long as the Dukes, North Carolinas, Kentuckys, Kansas, Louisvilles keep winning championships thats where the majority of elite players will want to play. Success breeds success. It's not enough to make Final Fours..... you have to win NCs.
