Trying to muddle my way through the current assistant coach contracts it looks like
OC/WR: Gattis - 1 year 900K guaranteed
Qb: McDaniels - contract complete
Rb: Jaybaugh - contract complete
OL: Warinner - 1 year 700k guaranteed, 25k retention bonus
TE: Moore - contract complete
DC: Brown - 1 year 1.1M guaranteed, 600k retention bonus
DL: Nua - Contract complete
LB: Jean-Mary - 1 year 450k
CB: Zordich - contract complete
S: Shoop (in name only) - 550k unknown how cost owed when this is terminated
For reference, Harbaugh is set to make 7.8M
So if Harbaugh is fired and does not obtain another job immediately, the total cost of Harbaugh and staff is ~11M not including covid adjustments or Shoops contract which hopefully they can get out from under. I imagine the support staff are on renewable deals.
If Harbaugh is retained, to get out from the coordinator deals is 2M, warinner would assuredly be back and it sounds like Jean Mary as well.
It wouldnt seem like cost is a factor, nor should it be. Even in these times you have to make the best decision for the program.
There are more contracts expiring than I thought assuming no modifications since the report in 2019 which, should he be retained, leave Harbaugh unencumbered to make staff changes given the coordinators are unlikely to be retained.
