Long Beach Poly dropped its JV squad due to low #s. Overall participation down 4.5% over the past decade.
I didn't find the article itself all that enlightening, but the graphic on which states are up in participation and which are down was interesting.
I'll be interested to see if some communities either go to combined teams (two or more high schools banding together to form a team; our HS has done that in the past with wrestling and some other olympic sports) or if they'll start to play 9-man football.
