Both teams now have 5 losses, with many tough games remaining, making it almost impossible for them to get even a share of the B1G title. (They play each other twice, plus two other very tough games each. Somewhat unfortunately, Michigan is Wisconsin's next non-Nebraska opponent, in what they will consider "must win to keep B1G hopes alive"... if Michigan wins, they won't think that way about Illinois.)
So, now their remaining games against the remaining contenders loom large:
- Iowa visits OSU and Michigan
- Wisconsin hosts Illinois and Michigan
Of course, Michigan controls their own fate (when allowed on the court), but ol' crawdad is hoping one or both increase the safety buffer that Michigan built for itself. [And, I wish Indiana had finished the game against Illinois instead of finishing the game against Iowa, in light of those teams' remaining schedules.]
