After reading the Updated Recruiting Needs article posted by Michael today, it is surprising and frankly downright refreshing to see almost across the board at every position group, attrition is expected. Can we assume gone are the days of kids accepting scholarships and just riding out their eligibility on the team without ever contributing or being heard from again? I hate the idea of forcing kids out but I think the last staff created too much of a nurturing and safe environment for "dead weight" players that a change in philosophy needed to be done.
Basically what it reads like is, if you are on the team and not contributing or putting in the effort to do so, the staff will make it a scenario where you will want to relinquish your scholarship so more deserving players can have it to make the team better.
