AJ Dillon Flips To Boston College-4 Star Recruit

I agree it's probably an indication of another player about to sign but here comes all the why can't Harbaugh keep some of his players from decommitting? I have no problem with 18 year olds changing their minds.

I like his post on his decommittment though - very well written and a very classy note. Seems like a great kid with a great head on his shoulder. I think this likely means that either Eno or Najee will come to Michigan.

Or maybe he just didn't want to compete in the end. Maybe just the thought of competing in a highly ranked recruiting class was too much and he wanted gautanteed playing time and touches...not a "meritocracy "

Very talented. Wish him well. Nice young man.

Part of the recruiting process. I will be reviewing commitments in about a month or so. Still declaration period :)

Shouldn't assume that is the reason. Ultimately, he gets to stay close to home, close to a network of people close to him and get to get an education from a good school. Hate to say it but if you think about our RB slate:
Evans, Higdon, Walker, Johnson (6th year), Samuels, Kingston, potentially Harris, and Taylor - you have 8 RBs on the team, 7 of whom are either freshmen or sophomores. You are likely not going to pick Michigan because your odds of getting into the NFL diminish. I expect we *do not* get a highly touted RB in the 2018 class.

Higdon will be a junior, somewhat likely that Kingston transfers, Johnson may not stay for his 6th year, but add in Ty Isaac. You'll have 5 freshmen/sophomores if Harris comes, but I'd put it at 4 because I just don't see Taylor doing much of anything.

It's definitely crowded, but we also had 4 legit RBs last year who saw a decent amount of time.

Alabama gets a 5 star running back every year, why wouldn't we get one in 2018 to stack up. Your mention of all of the backs on the team speak exactly to my point....he didn't want to compete with them. If he was the best, JH has proven you will see the field and a lot as a freshman. If you are the best you will stay on the field most.
Also, Boston College is not as good as Michigan ... in anything, Education, football, basketball, brand recognition networking after graduation, placement of NFL prospects, etc...imho he didn't want to compete...he wanted to stay close to home and have it easy... glad he flipped, not Michigan Tough

And just WHY would the kid decommitt? WTF, there are only a mere 8 RB's on the team!!! Next question!
