winners find a way to win.

UM had a great defensive stand but as a TEAM they found a way to lose. The safety with the missed assignment. Chesson dropping the ball. Not getting the last 1st down. Could have called a bootleg.

Coulda should woulda. MSU could have won that game the traditional way but UM found a way to lose. MSU found a way to win.

AB is right. The better team won.

Another thing dawned on me. Look....Higdon tripped on a run. Got too excited. Peppers bungled the ball and UM could have easily lost the ball. Chesson dropped the ball. Missed open long ball.

These are signs...it just like what AB said.,.not quite ready for prime time. Those was signs...red flags. The team was having a case of hiccups..a case of .......fill in the blank.

The team was showing it's age so to speak or it's lack of knowing how to win a close game. This play by the punter was eerily similar to Peppers early play or Higdon or Chesson. Maybe this was par for the course.

It is what it is but you look at this team...they were showing signs of cracking. Maybe not on defense other than missed assignment but the defense is the strength of the team and this game was taken away by the other parts.

True. Lack of experience winning close games. This team is still learning. These are growing pains. There is a steep learning curve this year. I wish Rudock could have connected on a few more.

I had said this game was a toss-up, but I thought UM played a sloppy game with way to many penalties..... It was just nice to see them be competitive in this game against a solid team, things are looking up.
They will learn from this game......have to have discipline.....

Gift city, and quarterback that forces us to be overly conservative and ineffective as a result. If we could have just moved the chains a couple more times, would have won.

By that logic, MSU has a limited kicker that forced them to give away 6 points. Just a couple chip in's and MSU wins in regulation.

The game is OVER now. We lost and it's time to move. NO ONE in their wildest dreams would have ever thought that the last 10 seconds would go as they did. The ONLY change that might have made would have been going to a tight punt formation to provide max protection at that time. When Michigan was in spread and MSU did not have anyone back and did not honor the spread then they could have shifted to tight set. I'm sure that the staff has mulled that over a gazillion times. BUT!!! it happened and Michigan lost. We have important games remaining and can still beat Ohio State at home at the end of the year. We can beat everyone else on the schedule including PSU. Looks like a great bowl in sunny Florida in January against a possible SEC opponent that we can flatten. Going 9-3 or 10-2 or possibly 11-2 is way the hell better than going 5-7 and sitting at home watching everyone else play. Its been a great year so far.

Kings dropped two very catchable passes too. Both teams made enough goofs to turn the game more in their favor. That always happens in a close game. UM is every bit as good as MSU. Neither team is strong top to bottom. MSU's D secondary is their weakest link, however I would say those to freshman back there Saturday played better than the upperclassmen of previous weeks. Miller and Willis are true freshman and both played pretty well. Nope, Ruddock is UMs weakest link, but he wasn't the reason you lost. The punter fumbled. That simple. Can't play for that. Can't plan for it. Hope is all MSU had. Just an absolutely freaky thing.

To be sure, this was Michigan's game to lose. Just a freak fumble. Freaky. Like a Hollywood movie.

You can plan for a fumble and that was the mistake, not the fumble. If the coaches had prepared the kicker for that possibility he would had fallen on the ball and game over after a hail Mary pass.

Spot on Carolina fan. Nice to think greedy but forget about this past weekend, go win out until O$U and then get fired up for THE GAME. Then let's go bowling!!

P.S. After the dust has settled what's your take on the Spurrier situation? I'm still mixed on it. Is he a quitter or did he really have the teams best interest at heart?

I really get po w people that chop Rudock up. He wasn't suppose to be a world beater, just fill a glaring weak spot w a better choice than we had w Morris or Speight.

Doesn't need to be a "world beater", but it would be nice if we didn't have so many three and outs that are directly related to Ruddock's limitations, which are well known and exploited by the better defenses we have and will play.

I'm not "chopping" Ruddock, he's done well to this point in doing what he's asked. I'm anxious to see what the coaching staff comes up with during these two weeks around the bye to hopefully take the next steps for a better chance of success ... this season (particularly for the OSU game).

Excuse my not knowing, but who is AB? I have no clue.
