I read an article that the solutions to this corruption is PAY COLLEGE ATHLETES
I have heard this mentioned hundreds of times and each time I find it either very naïve or very cynical.
So if Paying Athletes is the answer, I have another question.
Q: How much will we pay college athletes such that outside influences and outside money are rendered impudent to taint college athletes, parents and coaches?
Q: What amount of salary for college athletes makes this problem disappear?
IMO Answer: There is NO amount of money that will make outside money ineffective in steering athletes, parents and coaches to certain schools.
If a kid is legally and legitimately promised by the NCAA to make $250,000 / year to play football at Ohio State. and a booster from Alabama promises him another $100,000 under the table, what happens? BINGO
