Was looking thru different B1G football schedules and noticed Michigan's non-conference schedule of Utah, Oregon St, UNLV and BYU. A very good non-conf schedule compared to most Power 5 conference schools. I also realize that Michigan is one of the few 'national brand' schools.

I'm curious why UM scheduled all their non-conf games vs schools that are pretty much from the same region of the country? A region that it does not appear that UM spends a lot of time recruiting as there is only 1 player on the UM roster from west of Des Moines. Just curious. Thanks!

Not sure how intentional that was, ND tucked tail and ran away from the game scheduled this year, so it would have actually been three teams west of the Mississippi on the schedule. Probably more a coincidence.

I read a few year's back about the PAC 12 and BT making a deal to schedule 1 game a year for ALL schools. It feel through ,but Dave B (AD) was here so maybe they stuck with it. "74

I don't think that's correct ... pretty sure we have two players from Utah, a NG and FB, and sure seems like there's more, will have to check.
