I don't know what you like. However, THIS team is exactly the kind of Michigan team I LOVE
What do I love?
1. Physical Defense: I love this team because it is a team led by a GREAT PHYSICAL DEFENSE. This is a defense that does not defend...it attacks. These guys beat the offense up and take their lunch money. They are not reacting, they are forcing the offense to react and adjust. This is my favorite thing about this team. I'd rather have this than a great offense.
2. Ridiculous Pass Rush: My pulse quickens and I get all excited when its 3rd and long because I know that Don Brown is about to release the hounds: Winovich, Gary, Hudson, Bush and Uche are in full attack mode. I cannot imagine being a QB dropping back knowing that they are coming...quickly.
2. Man-Ball on Offense. No fancy BS spread offense with little slot receivers all over the field. This is big physical guys up front. OL averages like 6'5" 320lbs. With Dual TE's they are coming straight at you like a fleet of cement trucks. You know it but you can't stop it. (Yes the OL is now a strength)
3. Tough Running Back: Higdon is a back who runs bigger then his size. Big tough physical back who runs between the tackles and runs through arm tackles and fights for every yard. He is also a guy who can break one for 50 yds. even though he is not fast.
4. Three Big Time Receivers: A full set of tall fast athletic wide receivers who tower over DB's and can stretch the field. Time will tell, but IMO Black, Collins, and Peoples- Jones are as good of a trio as we have ever had at Michigan. These guys can just go get it.
6. Efficient QB: Patterson is not a human highlight film like Denard was. He does not have a cannon arm like Henne or Mallet or Henson. In some ways he is boringly efficient. I'm fine with that because he is REALLY accurate and efficient. AND he is one cool customer. He handles pressure well.
7. Ben Mason: After watching the play, when I watch the replay I especially watch Ben Mason just TRUCK some linebacker or hapless DB.
8. The Critics were WRONG: Harbaugh is over rated, Franklin and Dantonio own Harbaugh, Michigan is over rated. This offense is old and will not work, Michigan will finish 4th in the Big Ten East. blah, blah, blah.
God do I love this team.
