I know there is a lot of focus on needing a good offensive line (which is true), but it seems to me that whatever we want to do on offense (traditional run, drop back passing, or spread/quick hit passing), we need to improve our blocking in general. Obviously, we need an offensive line that can effectively block. But we also need:
- running backs that can block to give our QB time
- wide receivers that block well
- tight ends that can not only be good receivers but also block well
It seems like the top offensives maximize their efficiency with excellent blocking from all their players. Has blocking from our non-offensive linemen been a weakness under Harbaugh? Thoughts?
