a few thoughts from the hoop game

-Simmons has a funky looking shot. He has a hitch in it kind of like lonzo ball. It'll be interesting to see if he can make enough jumpers to keep the defense honest. I think JB is going to need to make a decision on the point guard position soon. The team will need one guy to be the focal person to lead the team imo.

-Poole - if I had to wager, I'd guess he is going to redshirt. I was surprised how thinly built he was. Add to that, I think he developed a lot of bad habits offensively in terms of jacking up a lot of shots that are not high percentage ones. In warm ups, he was upbeat, but it was evident that he was probably not a rotational player this year. He spent a fair amount of time shooting some unique shots with the managers.

-Teams will attack Duncan defensively all year. Even Grand Valley went at him off of the dribble at times. I'd like to say that he needs to get better and tougher at containing the dribble, but at this point in his career, it probably isn't going to happen.

-Didn't love Mo's post defense. There were times where he let the post player get too deep to start. Also, the doubling of the post player was rough looking. It seemed like UM was a little out of sync.
