Brown and Brooks were obviously great, but Dickinson also did a great job tonight in making the D collapse and moving the ball well. His passing has been up and down lately but was really good tonight. He had a couple unnecessary fouls but played physical and made a lot of good decisions.
There was a stretch under 8 I believe where Brown and Dickinson made 6 straight FTs when they were in the one and one. Those are not their best FT shooters and that's a spot where teams that miss the front end cost themselves. Huge FTs.
We saw exactly why some were worried about Smith coming into the season. I think the early block shook him and there was nowhere to hide him on D, but he needs to shake it off because FSU is not a small team either.
Tournaments are won only one game at a time, but it also matters that you have legs in the last 10 minutes of the second half. Give Sanderson credit and bit to Wade for overplaying his best guy two games in a row.
Lastly, a number of teams have fallen apart when getting down but this team is never short on mental toughness. Juwan is a big reason for that but it also says a lot about the character of some of these kids.
