Caveat that I lost streaming for the last 10 minutes of the first half when GW apparently outscored us.
My overall impression is that we hardly broke a sweat while pretty much doing what we wanted to. There were a few late rotations on defense but also possessions where GW just threw the ball at the basket. At 28-10 early, we may have lost some of our edge. I'd like to see Teske be a little more assertive at point blank range. Hard to be critical of much other than that.
Z is a monster. He was dynamite in the open court, slick in the half court and threw in a couple threes and some rebounds. Of course, a defensive wizard. The glue guy, steadying influence. Matthews hit shots from every distance and angle. That's the best that has shot has looked at Michigan. He was so smooth today. Great, of course, to see Poole go off today. He's streaky but puts points up in a hurry when he's on. We can really spread the floor when Poole hits shots. Iggy didn't score that much, partly due to foul trouble. But he makes things happen when he decides to go. Best play was the rebound and end to end rush, finishing with a nice dump off for a lay-up.
Second team with DeJulius at point got valuable time. They need it. Johns is clearly the guy who shows that he can play with the ones when he gets the chance. Everyone else not ready for prime time.
A comfortable W. We haven't always been doing that in the early season. Tomorrow nwill be a much bigger challenge no matter who we play, but I really like this team.
