Had a chance to speak to a friend that knows the Steubenville football program pretty well and gave me a little insight on new offer Charles Reeves. This was not a kid that was on my radar prior to the Michigan offer this morning....

- Said Reeves is 6-foot-5 and anywhere from 230-240 pounds. Two-sport athlete, pretty good basketball player apparently. Definitely an impressive run-and-jump athlete, he'll test well at college camps this summer.

- Didn't refer to him as a true tight end prospect. Calls him a 'hybrid athlete'. Now with that size and athleticism combo, most schools are naturally going to look at him as a tight end and it seems that is what Michigan is doing. Raw but a lot of upside.

Here is exactly how it was put - "He played some with his hand on the ground as a tight end, but he spent more time at wide receiver. I think you'll see reports saying tight end but he's a really a hybrid type kid. He can play both positions equally."

- Wasn't playing a whole lot early in the season this past fall. Steubenville had an injury and he stepped in and started playing more the week of the Massillon game (just about the mid-way point of the season). Am told he developed nicely from that point on and seemed to be getting better every week.

Here's a quick scouting report I was given.....

"He hight points the ball really well. His route running can and should improve. Has a tendency to float instead of sticking his foot and cutting. With his size he can create mismatches against smaller DB's. He's an above average blocker at this stage but that can be coached up in college."

My guy was very positive on Reeves' long-term outlook, thinks a lot of the things he currently lacks are coachable.
