under harbaugh:
  • half of harbaughs draft picks the last 2 years were rated as rivals 3 or less star prospects coming out of hs
  • out of our 11 players drafted last year, one (peppers) was a rivals top 100 prospect. by comparison, alabamas 10 draft picks included 7 rivals top 100 prospects; lsu's 8 picks included 6 top 100 prospects, and floridas 8 picks included 3 top 100 prospects
the point here is that trolls like farrell imply that harbaugh squandered a team littered with pro talent last year, but gloss over the fact that there wouldnt have been that level of pro talent without superior player development (there is a clear difference in average star profile of our draft picks vs bama, lsu, or uf - the other programs that generated high numbers of draftees this year). this year has certainly been disappointing but it if we are just cherry picking harbaughs worst year then it is going to be an obviously incomplete narrative. our 2015 and 2016 teams were probably closer in overall talent level to florida than to lsu or alabama, so those results arent nearly as bad as some make them out to be
