  1. The running game is an upgrade over last year. The Florida offense was a question mark coming in, but the consensus was that they have a good defense. Rushing for 215 yards against them was impressive and something we probably couldn't have done last year. We still aren't a great team running the ball, but we have improved.
  2. The defense will be able to handle the majority of the offenses we face this year. Florida's offense was not good, but we dominated them in a way I didn't expect. Outside of PSU and OSU, I don't see any offenses on the schedule that we won't get the better of over 60 minutes. And it's possible we handle OSU and PSU as well.
  3. Special Teams are in good hands. With the loss of Allen and Peppers, and the rearranging of coaching responsibilities, this was a potential concern. Nordin is obviously the rea deal and DPJ looked good on punt returns (as long as he secures the football better). Kickoff coverage was very good too. The blocked punt was disappointing, but overall a good showing.
  4. Wilton Speight is going to be the lightning rod again this year. He may have improved since last year, but it wasn't all that evident on Saturday. Winning the Big Ten will require him to be better than he was. That being said, it's still pretty obvious he's our best chance to win.
  5. Every game on our schedule is winnable. I'm not saying we will win them all, but it's a possibility. There is enough talent on this team to go into Happy Valley and Madison and win, as well as to take out the Buckeyes in the Big House. I won't predict that we will, but the expectation that whe could is on the table.
