We have about 5 5 stars on this team right now. My take is that for us to be a really good football team all of those 5 stars had to kill it this year or we would end up disappointed because the rest of the roster is just ok, not great. Let's define kill it like Mo Hurst level of play last year. And so far we have not come close.
1. Patterson is closest. He is a stud and if we had even an average line, I think he plays like a 5 star.
2. DPJ is getting there. Not 5 star on field output yet but improving.
3. The real issue is Gary and Solomon. Solomon has hardly played. But if we were going to be as good on D as we were last year he had to replace Hurst. Not close. Gary is a nice player, but not nearly 5 star production. Not close.
6. Jordan Anthony barely plays.
Last point, zero 5 star players on offensive line. How with Harbaughs background from Stanford and those lines did that happen?
This explains most of our challenges to me.
Thoughts?
