You'd think the league would have the common sense to use referees who aren't from the area. With all the TV money it has, it can easily fly in refs from other states.

I'm really not interested in BWI referee conspiracy theories. I think this was largely the case of refs doing "Jordan Rules" on UM, favoring the present big dog in the conference and turning a blind eye to close calls.

Because that type of whining and personal attack is classless. Too many of you are caught up on the embarrassment of Hoke apologizing for a tent stake being stuck in MSUs turf. That was pathetic. The embarrassment is that he sounded like a whiny excuse maker.

A coach with a backbone would have said...
were going to find a way to stop roughing the punter too much, a penalty that led directly to the pick six
were going to get tougher on the OL so we can compete better and run clock when it matters, something he hasn't done yet, improve the OL against real teams
were going to find a way to stop making timely, costly, stupid penalties like the Mason Cole penalty

The list can go on. You don't whine about the officiating, especially so dramatically and so publicly.

I didn't tell you that you had to like it! I said he does not need to apologize! You apologize for something that you didn't mean to do, mistake, etc. He definitely meant everything he said and now he owns it. If that still "offends" you, well, too damn bad! They have many safe places now that you can go to and work it out

Well that is why you are NOT a coach...or involved in football for that matter. Because you show how little you truly know and understand about the game. His kids just played their butts off and SHOULD have won the game. The refs decided otherwise.
