Now that we have our 29 recruits, who absolutely shines 4 years from now? Here's my prediction on a few:
  • Rashan Gary will be good but Mattison as his coach concerns me especially since once Glasgow went down the entire D-line absolutely got torched. I am not convinced about him as a coach long-term. Gary is talented enough that I think he declares for the NFL in 3 years.
  • Kareem Walker's season kept getting worse and worse with fumble problems and too much dancing around. I think he ends up playing quite a bit but I predict in 4 years we will have some other stud RB and Walker will be 2-deep.
  • Brandon Peters is the real deal, that kid has moxie and confidence and give him about 1-2 years under JH and I think he will be fantastic.
  • Devin Asiasi - I think he ends up being the jewel of the class. That man is a beast, strong as a bull, and he can block, catch and run. A little more weight training and this man will be unstoppable in the scheme JH will eventually run.
  • Brad Hawkins will be a possession WRs - has the size and speed, I think he will end up being like a Darboh.
  • David Long is very good - very high on him and I think he will play for 4 years and start his last 3 for us.
  • Uche is a system guy that will fit perfectly into what our new DC wants. High motor, likely not an NFL prospect but I think he will be a very very good college player. Very high on him.
I think the rest of the guys will be good, not great but I think this class pretty much ensures that Michigan will be in the picture consistently every year. I know a lot of players leave next year but we will have talent (albeit young) in 2017.

My 2 cents. Super giddy about today! Go Blue!

Watching Gary work inside on the line reminds me a little of Sapp. Really quick and likes to be physical. What made Sapp unbelievably great was he was so damn quick. Quicker than Zordich and Messner. Gary uses his hands exceptionally well and uses his quickness and size well. It's like he has the quickness of a short stocky guy but the size of a DE.

The biggest problem opponents will have with him is he can get up and block passes. He is going to be a terror on the strongside plus you can plug in a guy like Kemp so it's going to be hard to run on UM.

UM had a exceptionally strong class. MSU did well but UM killed it. Congrats to the staff.

I think Kingston Davis is the hidden gem. I think Walker is going to wind up being the change of pace back who breaks the big one on occasion (think Boles). The best thing I see when I look at these guys is all of them seem to be physical football players outside of Eubanks. This UM defense is going to be stout going forward.

It's got Harbaugh's fingerprints all over this class...smash mouthed football. If you really look at this class...it's got guys who are tough football guys who want to hit/block.

AGP, I think there's lots to look forward to at every position, deepest class UM has had in over a decade (i.e. there's a great player in almost every unit, QBs to DBs). Just what the doctor ordered.

While I think this is great class and will compete for playing time. Let's not forget the guys that are here all ready. They will compete also and have already been through year one and know what to expect. They are not going to just step aside and and give up their spot. It's going be fun to watch and I think the best is yet to come. Go Blue!

The competition aspect is what I find compelling. Total reversal from the Clappy "I'm your friend" approach, where you keep your spot whether you produce or not.

when I think of the Glasgow's and many other don't overlook the one-stars and walk-ons. I think JH has really focused on this group and hope he finds another 2-5 walk-on's

I think at the end of the day you recruit character - obviously physical tools and gifts matter but if you have a kid with the right character, attitude, desire, coachability, etc you will always win out. It's very rare you get kids that have all of the above and god given physical talent - folks like Denard, Braylon, Peppers, Hart, etc but I think JH is the master of assessing that better then anyone.

Some of those late commitments like Uche and Mbem-Bosse look like real, smash-mouth players who just get after it. We have not had nearly enough of those on our team.
