Happened to be on the field when the MSU team came out of the field and formed into a line with their helmets on and tracksuits - looked rather stupid to tell the truth. Frankly I was not sure if that was normal or what the protocol was for such events. A few players - some analysts - and most of the student managers were on the field throwing the ball around or stretching (with my dad and I trying to stay out of everyones way).
The MSU team started walking down the field from the tunnel side arm and arm going across the landfill they call the spartan field. Not knowing what to do and not wanting to cause an issue I moved off the field to let them by. A few hearty Wolverines stayed on the field in a middle finger to the jackasses and their smiling A hole coach as they made their way down the field. D Bush and K Hudson come to mind as I type this - but there may have been a few others (I seem to think Levert was out there too but cant be sure now). The MSU players got to Khaleke and they basically ripped his head off and did the same to Devin - all this 15 feet in front of me. Most admit was a bit - WHAT THE BLEEP - at this point - all this while the MSU coaches and staff walking behind the team were smiling at this display of MSU class.
D Bush was a little upset at getting assaulted by the bush league team from East Landfall (which is a different landfill all together from the stadium one - seems a lot of trash ends up in that area) about 30 secs later he was at mid field digging his cleats into the turf. He was rightfully pi$$ed.
Well needless to say what State did did not go over well.......before game time was asked what happend by our coaches - AD etc,..... turns out - MSU was supposed to do this BEFORE Michigan went on the field and their A hole coach waited until Michigan went on the field to do this stunt. They did not follow the protocol and agreement of schedule of events that had been agreed to during the week.
So game is played and we win.....the bus back to Ann Arbor was outstanding. Would post a picture of holding Paul Bunyan but not sure how to do that.
Well...my stupid Sparty family members start calling making excuses about how Michigan was supposed to be on the field -- we were told to not go on the field -- how D Bush had bumped or some such some grandmother grounds keeper -- MSU always does this - Michigan trashed the locker room (which is not true and it is paid to be cleaned after the game) and blah blah blah
Now my brother wasn't my stupid Sparty brother until that day - the name seems to work after that day and as such he is now my stupid Sparty brother.
He goes on and on and making dumber and dumber excuses. He even sent a video from ESPN that had us in it which was funny.
Finally just said -- "you realize our dad and I were right there - 10 to 20 feet away - we were eye witnesses - all you just said is crap"
Sent him the picture with the trophy and said how nice he will look with maize football paints on.
So what is my regret -- not standing with Khaleke....had I known this was a stunt would have enjoyed that confrontation....not sure the MSU guys would have ripped my head off....but had they....hmmm....would love to allow my Michigan educated lawyers to kick their asses...."
Hope the boys roll them this Saturday!!!
