A lot of the talk on the board recently has been focused on things that aren't going well or all the question marks heading into next season. I know I've been guilty of shifting topics that way a bit as well so I thought it would be nice to focus on something that's going well, recruiting. It's really early but Michigan has been able to generate a lot of positive momentum with some pretty good targets. I will say I have some not so great 2015 vibes from this class. We started recruiting really well in 2015 then the 2014 season was a disaster, Brady eventually lost his job, and the class fell apart. The staff is not likely to land guys like Pettaway, Clemons, Oscar Delp (not listed) Nolan, Cheeks, or Domani Jackson (not listed) if they finish in the 6-6 to 8-4 range. But if the team exceeds expectations next year I think they could land a very good class.
It does seem like there is a big focus on the Dline and guys with position flexibility. I have Tatum, Walker, and Mangham listed as athletes because I think they could play on either side of the ball depending on team need. This potential class looks really similar to recent groups Harbaugh has landed, but that's not a bad thing. We've brought in a lot of talent since 2016. Hopefully, the new staff is able to maximize development and production from this group.
Admittedly this is an optimistic projection but that's what makes projected classes fun. And of course, it won't be 100% accurate, but each recruit listed is at least somewhat realistic. So what do you all think? Who would you like to see in the class?
